Sterilization Solution

My favorite project during my co-op at Insulet was a digital prototype I developed to address a critical issue in the next-generation device design. A sterilization issue was discovered that affected multiple next-generation device designs, making it a high-priority problem.

I came up with a rough concept for a solution in which the engineers saw promise and was tasked with designing the module from scratch. I developed an initial prototype in SOLIDWORKS, and using the engineers’ high level direction, made several iterations to address usability concerns and improve manufacturability.

Over the course of a few months, I was able to bring the design to a level of refinement that could potentially be incorporated into a product.
